Il biologico italiano va  a gonfie vele, lo rivela uno studio della Coldiretti/Swg che segnala come il 56% degli italiani mette nel carrello della spesa prodotti certificati bio portando per il 2009 un aumento dei consumi al6,9%. Si legge in una agenzia Agi che “in Italia il biologico sviluppa un giro di affari stimato in 3 miliardi di euro con l' agricoltura nazionale che detiene il primato nel numero di imprese agricole biologiche (circa 45mila) su un territorio di oltre un milione di ettari. L'aumento del 32 per cento delle aziende dove acquistare direttamente (2176 nel 2009), quella del 22 per cento degli agriturismi ed il boom dei mercati degli agricoltori evidenziati da Biobank, confermano - sostiene la Coldiretti - la forte crescita di un segmento della popolazione che non si accontenta di acquistare biologico ma che vuole conoscerne anche la provenienza”.
